Artist Comments

Through countless centuries spring water has flowed over solid limestone, carving channels deep in the hard rock. Although the channels almost appear to be man-made in their depth and uniformity, they were in fact hewn by the hand of nature, and serve to channel spring water into a shallow basin, where the ponded water awaits its journey through a small portal on the south side (left as you look at the painting) and eventually into the Nueces River in northwest Uvalde County.

This painting is soft pastel on archival paper, custom-framed behind museum glass.  It is a substantial rework of a 2017 painting. [Studio]
